music stress save summer

So Delicious Dairy Free is on a mission to save summer.  Each week, we have a theme to help you reclaim that childhood excitement of summer time.  This week, our theme is “feel the beat”. We love summer music tunes, and So Delicious Dairy Free is also a proud sponsor of the Wanderlust Festivals, featuring wine, food, music and talks on conscious living.

We also love what music can do for our mood.  Stress is a common occurrence in our modern lives.  In addition to diet and exercise, having access to a musical outlet is a great way to manage the everyday stress of managing a family home.  If you can’t make any of our top ten summer music festivals, there are multiple ways you can incorporate mood boosting music into everyday dairy-free living.  Here are some strategies for using music to manage stress.

Singing in the shower, in the car, or out at karaoke has shown in some cases to be not only good for your mood, but also your body.  Singing releases a hormone called oxytocin, which alleviates stress and anxiety.

Learning to play an instrument increases your focus and keeps your brain active.  Keeping up this skill helps to sharpen your mind to help you make decisions quickly and wisely.

Listening to music you enjoy releases endorphins, a hormone that helps you feel happy and relaxed. Keep a playlist on your phone or computer to keep your good mood handy on the go.

Other benefits from music include alleviating pain, motivating you through a physical task like biking or yard work, and even improve the quality of your sleep.  All of those benefits can lower your stress levels and help you lead an even happier life.

How does music help you in your everyday life?
